Last Day..

Tomorrow is my last ever day at high school, along with Georgina, and to be perfectly honest with you, I’m not looking forward to it! Sure it’s going to be a laugh dressing up as a hippy and saying goodbye to all the teachers I like (and those that I despise), but it’s going to be sad!!

The Girls.

Sometimes, the real people we are inspired by are discovered on the pages of a fictitious novel…

The Girls by Lori Lansens is a book about craniopagus twins, born joined at the head. Rose and Ruby Darlen were abandoned by their unmarried mother, however adopted by the nurse in attendance at their birth.

Sharing blood and skull bones, these girls have no choice but to share their lives together, surviving until their 30th year. One sister is weaker than the other, and develops an aneurysm which threatens to take the lives of both sisters at any time, however Ruby and Rose live life to the fullest – loving and experiencing all they can.

Today, Ruby and Rose are my mavens.

Between Friday 15th – Sunday 17th April at De Wittenplaats (De Wittenstraat 27, Amsterdam) the Beelddragers are showing photographs from six different artists.

All of the images show a different perspective to event photography – not your average pretty girls posing in front of a camera. With blurred images, bad lighting and off angles, you really get a feel of how a typical night out is…
